The blue lines are the grid in the preview display. Deactivate the grid in the view menu and the "blue lines" are gone.

The problem with the generated panorama are the control points: there is only a single control point between image 5 and 6. Also other image pairs have only 2 control points. Other images pairs have about 20 control points. I don't know how you come here. Tested with your images cpfind find enough cp for generation of the pano.
There is a small issue with a wrong detected vertical line control point. Remove the line control point from image 7.

What worked for me the test images (from scratch):
1.) Disable finding line control point in preferences, assistant tab
2.) Load images…
3.) Press Align…

Changed in hugin:
status: New → Invalid

If it fails it should print a error log, or alternately saving a log beside the pto file.

What is printed in this log?

with being fast enough I could do a Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C to get whatever appears in log window before it gets closed

exporting to TIF instead of JPG works
but the result is still not really good as there are some hick-ups - shoreline is not a line but like a wave

I see no error in the log.

But the canvas size has a very high height.
Did you start from scratch with disabled line detection in the preferences? (It is possible to fix the posted project. But it is simpler to start from scratch with the changed settings.)
With the steps described in comment #2 I'm getting a nice pano.

JPG fails and TIF has bad alignment

I deleted the pto file with your suggested settings...

find the result of PNG and "new" pto file.
biggest visible error is between P1010172.JPG and P1010173.JPG - waterfront below the church
batch seems also to have completed with errors - but no log file

Please don't attach such big files here.

Okay, we the standard settings there is small glitch with the cp cleaning in this special case.

Go to preferences and set default cp generator to cpfind (with celeste). Then try it again (from scratch).
This works for me. Also the output is fine for jpg/tif/png.

(In PTBatcherGUI you can activate the option to always save a log.)
