We have installed newest update from Git Mahara and are trying to get the social Media Links section working.
Unfortunately it does not display all Icons, even it recognizes all icons on Google and could simply pull them actually from Google, but it is not doing it.
In the form where you can enter the links you can not add a custom image or much easier the image of the Google Favicons which exist for nearly all websites which have a favicon defined.
just as an example

Those show the links to my social media websites - entered in a Text block via html and as you can clearly see all - beside "GitHub" not sure why their favicon did only show up as a globe placeholder when used the Google Favicon settings, all others are pulled from Google. That is easy, saves a lot of headaches - especially for newbies and non programmers - and it saves space which is mostly limited on Mahara installations to users, so using an already existing online resource is very advised. A Remark concerning GDPR/DSGVO needs to be placed in the Privacy statement of course.
For all those who are VERY concerned about Google Mahara offers no chance to upload a custom I can - or like mentioned above to enter an already linkable image from an online resource or other existing and legally accessible webspace.
Besides that - as you can see in teh image - the Links display as text links in Frontend and in Backeend with Google Link paths and only favicon which have already been defined and exist on the Mahara installation display as Icons. It would be appreciated if there would bean option to enter a custom favicon and also a link filed so you woudl be able to enter a link to an image which is online available - i.e. the one of Google Favicon - instead. https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=domain.name
