Roberto, based on your description, the problem does not seem specific to gstreamer (VLC does not use gstreamer). So I am changing the package to pulseaudio for now to help gather information. Please run the following command from the affected machine to automatically gather audio information:
apport-collect 1934400

affects: gstreamer1.0 (Ubuntu) → pulseaudio (Ubuntu)
Changed in pulseaudio (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
