cupsys 1.3.2-1ubuntu7.5 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - server

I have configured my printer to use HP's jetdirect and configured it in cups as a network printer. When there is no network connection the cups interface hangs when trying to become administrator to change printer settings. Maybe cups could make the printer icon gray and give warning that it cannot access the printer.

I confirm this bug on Hardy with cupsys 1.3.7-1ubuntu3.
When there are network printers configured and there's no network connection (e.g. on a laptop at home, with office network printers configured) all printing related actions hang the system (Xorg does not respond at all, firefox becomes gray, etc).
