Bug Description

I bought a TP-Link TL-WN821N V5 wireless adapter and it is not working on Xubuntu 20.04. On dmesg, it is detected correctly. However, the authentication times out very quickly.

The module from https://github.com/clnhub/rtl8192eu-linux.git works, but this is not ideal, because it requires rebuilding the module for every kernel version and, either disable Secure Boot or sign every module for every kernel update.

The attached file has the full dmesg log, including trying rtl8xxxu with debug=0xffff log. I noticed the log shows this device is untested.

lshw output for this device:

  *-network:1
