Bug Description

This was observed on MAAS 2.8.4 (8597-g.05313b458-0ubuntu1~18.04.1).

If I have a newly added, disconnected NIC, and I try to edit it, I will get a warning about it not being connected.

If I click the suggestion to connect the NIC and connect it through that path, everything works fine. However, if I instead click cancel, and then connect the NIC through it's drop-down, I then find that I lose the option to edit the NIC as well as add any vlans/aliases. Further, the dropdowns of the other NICs also seem affected, with most of them losing most of the same options.
