Bug Description

Binary package hint: kmail
---
Kubuntu Hardy Heron using KDE 3.5.8.

Kontact crashes after a little while after it has been started - it's still trying to check all IMAP mail accounts and akreggator is checking the rss feeds.

The KDE Crash handler returns this:

i can confirm this!!
after today's updates, i cant copy anyting from kmail windows.
Changing any text field while replying to emails, will also make kmail unresponsive to clicks or keyboard.

Looks like this bug is a duplicate of this (really old one) here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdepim/+bug/35058

After rebuilding my kmailrc it seems to be working fine.

Yeah, rebuilding kmail.rc helped.... but question remains what made it crash in first place?

I take your point that we've never really found the original cause but there isn't enough info here to find it now. Also the chances of it getting fixed in the KDE3 version of kmail grow increasingly slim. We may as well close this now. If the bug rears it's head again in KDE4 we'll deal with it then

thanks
