The use of Pushkin's handwriting is not insignificant, actually. The best option would probably be to create a PD font from samples of his handwriting. Or just text-to-path.

Other people need it to translate 'Draw Freely.' e all they would have that to pay a use license.

I suggest to use a free font.

example:
translate 'Draw Freely.' for 'Desenhando Livremente.' is necessary font family Pushkin; this is pay.

What is the importance of using this man's handwriting in Inkscape? I understand that he was an important person. But do we really need to keep it? I agree with Valessio that using a proprietary font complicates the process of producing about screens.

Bulia is going to need to comment on this. But in the meantime I think using an alternate font for translations is acceptable -- the font in question doesn't have glyphs for many of the languages we would need to translate to anyway.

I've found a free version of Pushkin font, called newPushkin (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Pushkin?content=106881). All the 0.47 screens are translated with this font.
