installation impossible: Dell USB-keyboard doesn't work

Bug Description

When trying to install hardy alpha 4 using the alternate install CD, the keyboard stops working once I see the ubuntu-logo (when the screen says install in text mode, OEM install, install a command-line system, and so on).

It's impossible to start the installation, because I simply can't press enter on install in text mode. In fact, I can do nothing but watch the screen. I've tried reconnecting the keyboard, even to another USB-port, but no luck.

I'm using a Dell Dimension 9150 with a Dell USB-keyboard. I can not use a PS2 keyboard, because there are no such connectors in the system.
