Evolution always start in offline mode

Evolution always start in offline mo0de. I need to click on the work offline button to activate online mode. I t happen even if the option to check for mail every x minutes is enabled.

Thank you for your bug report. Do you use network manager? Is it connected?

I use the new network manager 0.7. It is connected but to be honest I get the same behaviour with Firefox since yesterday. When I disable work offline both works. The evolution problem happens since about two weeks ago.

Maybe I should have filed a bug against network manager?

could you try if that's happening using the hardy network manager version? No need to open a new bug, this one can be reassigned

I did a force version to 0.6.5 and the problem is solved now, albeit the network applet is gone now from the panel.

that looks like a network-manager issue then, closing the bug since 0.7 is not an official ubuntu package yet. The applet might be not working because you didn't downgrade it to the same version

I have the same problem with the hardy NM version (0.6.5)
I must click on the swith online/offline button to get online.

I am experiencing the same thing on a fully upgraded hardy beta. Specifically, this happens following resume from suspend. NM connects to the network following resume, and in gutsy and previous versions, evolution would switch to online mode and then check email. In hardy beta, evolution never returns to work online mode.

I should add that I am not using any non-standard versions of nm or ubuntu---all from the standard repositories.

in my computer (ubuntu 8.04) is network manager disconnected, because i have USB modem with chip Conexant
How can i set option to start with online mode? same problem in firefox

Hi, I have my network connection showing up, Firefox opening sites on internet but Evolution almost always starts in offline mode.
I even tried opening Evolution AFTER Firefox but it still starts in offline mode. I am using Lucid Lynx.
