Laptop - Lenovo T440s, no info the firmware ( upgrades ) status. Old "thorwaway" Windows machine, I take a look, if I can install linux on it.

Metadata kept in Windows cache, refused to mount.
Falling back to read-only mount because the NTFS partition is in an
unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown Windows fully (no hibernation
or fast restarting.)

Perhaps you can format hard disk to get file system clean. As I understand you don't need Windows in that computer.

Ubuntu 21.04 (hirsute) reached end-of-life on January 20, 2022.
Ubuntu 20.10 (groovy) reached end-of-life on July 22, 2021.
