vlc-plugin-video-output/focal 3.0.9.2-1 progress bar hangs

The standard video player works fine, but sometimes the progress bar hangs, only the time counters are regularly updated. This happens in particular with playing mp3 audio files, seldom with videos. This is annoying if your would like to move the progress bar's cursor at another point in the file since it is not visible at the current position. When enforcing a window redraw by minimizing and expanding again, it usually updates the position correctly but stops moving after a while again.
Had been the same problem in eoan and before.
