Bug Description

A bug in the input-wacom module was causing intermittent crashes when the stylus first touched the tablet. This is documented here:

https://github.com/linuxwacom/input-wacom/issues/234

Apparently input-wacom has been released with a fix, I was told that I need to raise a bug in launchpad to get this fix propagated into an update for 20.04 (apologies if that is not the case).

According to the above link, the fix has been released and accepted into the main upstream kernels (I don't know which versions exactly) - I'm unclear as to what the process is for this to go into an LTS update.. after much searching all I've read is that one should raise a bug in launchpad(!) Many thanks..

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1914458/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

This has been marked as a duplicate of bug #1920632 (which it may well be) - however I am experiencing these crashes on kernel 5.4.0-70-generic (i.e. the GA kernel for 20.04.2) - is it possible to get the fix from bug #1920632 backported into that kernel to fix this issue for everyone? Apologies if I've misunderstood the process.
