Bug Description

Hi,

Since a couple of weeks I found my self frustrated.

I usually use bash -o vi and use vi commands on the command line. To search bask in the history i type 'Esc+/' and after thtat the search string e.g. 'Esc+/python3'

Above search hangs the bash process with heave CPU usage and I need to kill it. Please help.
/Joakim
