Bug Description

On a new breezy install, Muine displays just 3 of my jacket albums (out of ~100). Even if I try to add them manually by dragging the picture from firefox, I get the thumbnaling hourglass and then still a blank area.
On an older Debian install, Muine did get and display automatically 90% of the jackets.

Muine only seems to get around 25% of my album covers automatically.

Dragging and dropping album covers from firefox into muine works for me though.

Have you got breezy fully updated?

Yes, it's fully updated, and I completed my cover collection using drag'n drop in the mean time.
I read somewhere that there's been a change in the way amazon handles the connections to its search APIs that now require a valid registered developper cookie, whereas in the past all the requests where handled. This could explain that Muine now fails on the same collection on which it worked so great some month ago

Ok, I've tried a couple of things, and it appears that as you say the amazon search thingy is broke. I've just checked in b.g.o and there's a bug opened there (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310795)

The reason why it is picking up some album art is that they already have images embedded in the files id tag.

I believe this should be fixed in Dapper. I'm not sure whether or not I read it only works on new albums you import though..

New albums added to the library have album covers added, but old ones don't. There's a workaround in the upstream bug, but is there a better way to do things?

Amazon does not allow redistributing a devkey for its web service, so muine no longer does this.
You can now get some covers off the web using MusicBrainz.
