I started awn from the command line with the command avant-window-navigator and here is the output. I tried to open some files with stacks and also tried to remove them.

rie-rie@dell:~$ avant-window-navigator

More information:
Avant Window Navigator 0.2.1+ (unstable)

I installed AWN from http://wiki.awn-project.org/index.php?title=InstallingFromSource
and the extras from http://wiki.awn-project.org/index.php?title=Awn_Extras:Installation
on places where I got a little stuck, I went to the Ubuntu forum and searched various entries for assistance.

The folders I cannot open are the ones I dragged and dropped into stacks. I don't know any other way of getting files and folders into stacks.

I don't know if this will make any difference, but I have the Leopard theme from Mac4Lin on AWN.

Finally got some time to give this a closer look.

Do you have the stack setup to use a file backend or a folder backend? (in the stack preferences)

Where are you drag a file into the stack, do you mean you release the file above the applet icon and so add the file/folder to the stack itself or do you drag+drop it to a folder in the stack itself?

(sorry for all the questions, just want to understand what is happening)
