Bug Description

Hello! There is one file in my music folder for which a thumbnail is not shown by Nautilus, although it does have a cover art. Gnome Videos shows the cover art, as well as VLC media payer. I will upload the file here.

Thank you for your bug report, the cover is correctly displayed there. Could you try to copy it to another directory from a command line and see if it's correctly generated there? It could be that it failed once for some reason and nautilus isn't going to retry...

Once i copied the file it is now shown correctly in the new location (the Desktop). But i have a hell of a lot more files in the main Music folder which do have a cover shown inside Gnome Videos while Nautilus doesn't show covers for them. I am using MusicBrainz Picard from Ubuntu repos for saving the cover photos. No idea why some cover images show up and some do not. The file which i attached is one of those that are not showing in their original folder.

You could try removing ~/.cache/thumbnails/fail and see if the others correctly got regenerated or fail again

Yes, that fixed it! They regenerated! I don't know what caused the issue. Should i reply here if the next time i save files in Picard and they don't generate a thumbnail?

Great, there is a known issue that if thumbnailing fails for some reason then it will never be retried again. Next time you get the problem feel free to comment with the 'journalctl -b 0' log from the session included

I'm uploading the journalctl log from the current session now, because i just tagged a file called "Akcent - Special Girl (One Love).m4a" and it doesn't have a thumbnail shown by Nautilus.
