Bug Description
Calibre 5.5, 64-bit on Win10
I've been experimenting with merging Calibre css styles, e.g. lump all italics together, especially in ebooks that have hundreds of styles.
The editor lumps the names together above the style-specs.
However, I just noticed that "remove unused styles" does not touch that merge listing, even if many of names in the listing are not used. That means a listing of 50 merged, remains 50, as long as one of the styles is still being used.
May I suggest that 'merge' would be programmed as a real merge, i.e. that only ONE style name is retained, and the other styles in the text are over-written with that one name during the merge in a search/replace action.
Alternatively,
Can the editor be forced to treat merged style listings with multiple names as so many simple listings for the remove' function?
TIA
Fixed in branch master. The fix will be in the next release. calibre is usually released every alternate Friday.
