Bug Description
I had a good conversation with our OER/textbook affordability librarian today about how her processes might be compatible with the new course materials module. Here is some of the information that she currently stores about courses and course materials:
* For a course: the price of the last used commercial textbook. She uses this to calculate how much students have saved when a faculty member decides to use an OER or library ebook to replace a commercial textbook.
* For a course material: a shortened URL, used in publicity materials, syllabi, and shelf talkers in the campus bookstore.
* For a course material: a boolean value indicating whether she's reported the material to this statewide list of low-cost course materials: https:/
* For both courses and course materials: various notes
Some of these might be more widely applicable (like a notes field). Some of these are less so. I know that our circulation staff also maintain a bunch of paper records for each material in our reserves collection, including whether the materials belong to the faculty member or the Library.
It would be helpful if we could add some functionality for staff to record internal information about the courses and course materials we keep in Evergreen, so that we don't have to maintain all this overlapping local record keeping.
