Feature request: configure lcdproc in mythbuntu control center and/or ubiquity

Bug Description

It would be cool to configure an LCD display similarly to how lirc is configured now. This could be done in ubiquity as well as the mythbuntu control center. However, I think a prerequisite is setting up lcdproc to use debconf to select the proper lcd driver for your device. I'm tempted to try learning debconf myself to see if I can make this work, but I'd leave the ubiquity and mythbuntu control center portion up to the mythbuntu team.

We really do appreciate you opening this ticket to help improve Mythbuntu, but it needs to be closed for a number of reasons. The biggest one is that upstream has moved on to a new version and believes this to be fixed. Could you please verify if this issue still exists in the latest version?

Please do not let the closing of this ticket dissuade you from opening a new ticket if this (or any other) problem occurs with the newer versions.

It's not really a bug, it's a wishlist. And it still exists as a wish. It's partly here as a reminder that I could work on it at some point, though I'd be happy if someone else did. It seems like a fairly simple way to improve the lcdproc package and make it easier to set up displays in mythbuntu.
