Bug Description

Binary package hint: checkgmail

CheckGmail version 1.12-1ubuntu1 is currently broken in Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 due to a backend or RSS change in gmail. If I'm incorrect, the reason does not matter.
CheckGmail version 1.13-1ubuntu1 in Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 currently works with the gMail.

I'd like to see 1.13-1ubuntu1 backported to Ubuntu Gutsy 7.10 so that no patches are needed to fix this program.

If the gutsy version is broken, then this shuold become an SRU. Backports are not for bug fixes.

I have no objection against an upload of 1.13-1ubuntu1 into gutsy-proposed, and after someone tests it properly, move it to -updates.

I don't have an objection either, jdong, how about you? My only concern would be about setting precedent regarding new upstream releases in -updates. I'm not sure exactly what our microrelease policy is for Universe.

Is it possible to isolate a fix without backporting the whole package? Looking at upstream SVN repository, I think these checkouts will solve this issue avoiding to publish in -proposed a new set of features:
