nautilus doesn't display thumbnails on NFS network share

Nautilus is set to show thumbnails in all locations. When viewing a NAS share, it will not display thumbnails for a NFS mount. Just generic image icon is displayed for both jpg and movies.

If I view the same folder in Nautilus via samba, the thumbnails will generate and display OK.

Thunar will generate and display thumbnails OK on NFS and samba.

Permissions are sound.
Works on 18.04 as expected, and NAS has not changed since 18.04 in use.

I just replicated this on a VM build of Ubuntu desktop 20.04.
