Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-guidance

On Dell Latitude D510 laptop and Kubuntu Hardy Alpha 4.
When the laptop switches to battery power and the kde-guidance-powermanager switches to Powersave mode the CPU frequency goes to maximum.
I have checked also with cat /proc/cpuinfo and it also shows that the CPU is at max.

When the policy is Dynamic this does not happen.

I have also found similar bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kde-guidance/+bug/133357

Thanks for taking time for submitting this report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

Can you attach screenshot of your powermanager settings?

Do you get notification when you plug/unplug power that says "CPU frequency policy changed to Xxxx"?

Thanks

No, I get no notification, no matter which policy is set for battery or main power mode.
But I am sure it had the notification up to a few days ago.

Here is a picture of my settings.

But I think that the bug can be closed since i checked and the powersave policy works well now. I think it got fixed with one of the recent updates.
