Bug Description

I installed Kubuntu 20.10 in VirtualBox. It is not possible to set the initial resolution (800x600) to a higher one. If you do so, the screen resolution changes back to 800x600 after 1-2 seconds.

Sounds like some kind of feedback bug. Maybe it's resetting itself because it's prioritizing manual window resizing.

Can you just resize the VM window instead?

Yes, I could resize the window which did not change the resolution. After updates today morning the screen is blinking permanently after reboot quite quickly. It is difficult to do anything.

I use Kubuntu. I think there is no option to change the windows manager there.

I manged to change the resolution. Scaling works also. But the screen blinks all the time. Only in full screen modus it is OK.
