Java 6 doesn't work in Kubuntu 8.04
sun-java6-plugin is already the newest version.
sun-java6-bin is already the newest version.
sun-java6-jre is already the newest version.
Firefox 2.0 about:plugins:

But it's doesn't work. Java just not loading.
I also tried Firefox 3.0 beta 2, same result.
In Kubuntu 7.10 all works fine.
I already tried sudo update-
Same problem using fully updated ubuntu 8.04. Using a workaround from here (http:// ubuntuforums. org/showthread. php?t=621864) fixed it for me.
$ sudo sed -i 's/XINERAMA/ FAKEEXTN/ g' /usr/lib/ jvm/java- 6-sun-1. 6.0.04/ jre/lib/ i386/xawt/ libmawt. so
(I changed 1.6.0.03 to 1.6.0.04 because that is the version I am using)
