@Kai-Heng Feng (kaihengfeng) , yes, after adding that line in sudo gedit /etc/default/grub :

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.notimeout i8042.nomux"

Then updated, via :

sudo update-grub

Hence it works .

@Abhishek, I'm trying to upstream necessary change for this device so that you don't have to carry additional boot parameters anymore. PPA for testing is at https://launchpad.net/~vicamo/+archive/ubuntu/ppa-1886257, but it might take up to hours before finishes. After those kernel packages are built and published into that PPA, I'll need your verification before going on to submit patch to kernel mailing list. Please attach dmesg of either prebuilt kernel and the device validness once it's done. Thank you.

@Abhishek,

1. remember to run `sudo update-grub` after modifying grub parameters in /etc/default/grub

2. You may install my test kernel with:

   $ sudo apt install \
       linux-modules-extra-5.4.0-41-generic=5.4.0-41.45+lp1886257 \
       linux-image-unsigned-5.4.0-41-generic=5.4.0-41.45+lp1886257 \
       linux-headers-5.4.0-41-generic=5.4.0-41.45+lp1886257 \
       linux-headers-5.4.0-41=5.4.0-41.45+lp1886257

   You may find package information in this page: https://launchpad.net/~vicamo/+archive/ubuntu/ppa-1886257/+packages

3. When booting, remember to press ESC to enter grub menu and select kernel "5.4.0-41-generic".

4. And, again, need your dmesg to confirm it's actually working.

Thank you.

@You-Sheng Yang (vicamo) ,

I have taken a long time to reply , but I was thinking .

Sorry to say this , I won't be able to do this on my laptop .

The laptop is my personal laptop , & the work required to be done is too complex .

For now, the touchpad works and hence I am OK with that status .

Reply if anything else . . .
