Bug Description
Using Kubuntu 8.04:
CASE 1:
I plug an USB media storage, and a window appears with some possible things to do:
* Open in a new window.
* Download Photos with digikam.
* Do nothing
I choose Open in a new window and I click on Accept.
Then a new window is displayed with title "Error-KIOExec" and a message that says:
"/media/STORE_N_GO is a folder, but a file was expected"
I click on Acept in that window.
On the desktop there is now an icon which links to the drive, which is munted, if i click on this icon i can browse the drive with dolphin.
CASE 2:
I inset a data DVD, and the same window is displayed offering me this options:
* Open in a new window.
* Do nothing
I choose Do nothing and i click on Accept.
There is now an icon on desktop that links to the DVD media which is unmounted.
I click on that icon and the same error window is opened:
Error-KIOExec: "/media/cdrom0 is a folder, but a file was expected"
After that, the desktop icon shows that drive is mounted, and it can be browsed by clicking on it again.
CASE 3:
I plug an USB disk and the window with offers is opened:
* Open in a new window.
* Download Photos with digikam.
* Do nothing
I click on Cancel.
There is now an icon that links to the disk on desktop which is unmounted, i right-click over it and contextual menu is dropped:
I can now choose some options, two of them are:
*Open
*Open with Dolphin
If I choose Open, the drive is automatically mounted and browsed with Konqueror.
But if I choose Open with Dolphin, the same as in CASE 2 happens.
I wonder if this is related to a problem in the System Menu.
I have a quick link to the System Menu in the toolbar, and when I click on that and then on anything not relating to the current user [the Storage Media, Remote Places, User's Folders] there is a KIOExec error also.
The error is "Malformed URL Media:/" for Storage Media
"Malformed URL remote:/" for Remote Places
and
"Malformed URL home:/" for User's Folders.
All of these links try to open in Dolphin as well.
Is there a way to link the System Menu to konqueror to see if this problem still happens with konqueror?
