Bug Description

Binary package hint: tomboy

I am accustomed to using the following shortcuts which are standard in many applications:
ctrl-insert(copy)
shift-insert(paste)
shift-delete(cut)

And tomboy *does* seem to support the first two: copy and paste.
But for some reason, in Tomboyt, shift-delete *does not* put the deleted text onto the clipboard.(does not perform a "cut")
Can this please be added, I find myself frequently frustrated by this inconsistency.

I realize there are other shortcuts (ctrl-c, ctrl-v, ctrl-x), but these(shift-delete, etc.) shortcuts are particularly convenient when selecting text via keyboard: the left hand is already holding the shift key, and the right hand is using either the arrow keys or home/end, all of which are just next to the delete and insert keys used for these shortcuts.

Just confirming this problem - I also prefer to use these shortcuts as my left hand is usually on the mouse, therefore these are much more convenient.

Just double-checked with Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon live cd & shift-delete worked ok. I'm using Linux Mint 4.0 and assumed same versions of Tomboy, however Ubuntu uses 0.8.0-1 & Linux Mint uses 0.8.0-1mint (not sure of differences if any) - perhaps it's particular to the OP's configuration having something in common with Linux Mint's? Will also report bug on Linux Mint forums.

No problem on Hardy.

Yes this appears to be working for me now, running Gutsy. Strangely, I'm pretty sure I was running Gutsy when I reported this, but maybe there was a package update somewhere between then and now.

Anyway, I am marking this fixed.
