Dead/frozen mouse pointer after login

Bug Description

A dead/frozen copy of the mouse pointer remains on the screen, after login. This issue has been previously reported by other users. The dead mouse pointer goes away if you switch the the Scale on Display Settings to any alternative and then back to your desired scale. Using an AMD Ryzen processor with a Radeon Vega graphics chip and default Gnome desktop.
