nautilus takes a long time to shut down

Bug Description
Start nautilus from the command line.
Immediately close the open window with Ctrl-W. (this took me less than a second)
The nautilus window closes immediately, but nautilus takes 13.5 sec to shut down:

I was able to reproduce this on Focal with Nautilus version 3.36.2.
