GPU fallen off bus

On upgrade from linux-modules-nvidia-440-generic-hwe-20.04:amd64 5.4.0-29.33 to 5.4.0-31.35 I encounter 'NVRM: GPU 0000:01:00.0: GPU has fallen off the bus.' System becomes unresponsive after this.
Nvida bug report generated via nvidia-bug-report.sh attached.
Machine is Dell Inspiron 5590.
