Bug Description

This began happening after the latest updates using apt.

I am connecting to a previously saved connection on my network.

After I enter my password and hit enter I get the message: "Connection failed. Your home directory path contains non-ASCII characters. Aborting session startup."

I'm not sure what this is referring to, as both my local and remote home directories don't contain non-ASCII characters as far as I know.

Somehow udev was full and was causing issues. I rebooted the server and was able to login again. Very strange, but not a bug in x2go as far as I can tell.

Changed in x2goclient (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

In my case /tmp/ path was full. Once some temporally files were removed, I was able to login.

Same issue for me, my root partition (including home) was full

I would say thats more a user error than a bug since most desktop systems also will not start up anymore without some free space.

I experienced the same error today. I have been using X2Go on Windows connecting to Ubuntu 18 for almost two years and it has been great. It worked yesterday.

I have tried:
1, reboot the system
2, reinstall the server and client
3, delete all files in /tmp/
4, It still shows: Your home directory path contains non-ASCII characters. Aborting session startup.
5, I can use PuTTY to connect and it works well.

Are there other ways to solve the problem? Thanks.
