Celluloid very slow and choppy playing .MOV files while MPV works well

I am playing MOV's; personal drone videos in 4k, the videos do not play properly in Celluloid but play better than in VLC on regular MPV. Also, neither celluloid nor mpv seem to be able to play the same files after conversion to mp4 yet VLC plays them fairly well. I'm currently using a little asus e203m with/4gb RAM and emmc drive. My other machine is in the shop. I'll report back when I try the same on an gen8 i7 with/16gb ram with/ssd. Otherwise I'm very happy with MPV's better playing of these as compared to VLC, VLC always has this annoying diagonal line with any panning, MPV plays the drone videos almost perfectly unless there is fast panning and lots of quick scenery changes.Sorry for the extra info here.
