Bug Description

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.10 on Ubuntu 8.04 amd64.

- On opening a save dialog and hitting the "Save" button, Firefox crashes.
- On opening any file dialog, closing it using "Cancel" and opening another file dialog, Firefox crashes.

As it's a reproducable crash, I was able to backtrace it.

Strange. As it seems, it doesn't matter which kind of file dialog it is.

Now it gets really strange. As it seems, Firefox isn't to blame for the crashes, as these crashes happen in every application. This problem must have been introduced in a recent Hardy update. We need to move this bug to the right package, as it's a GNOME/GTK2 problem of whatever. Any suggestions?

Severin, how else have you been able to reproduce this bug? I've only seen it in Firefox 2 and 3.

I was able to reproduce these crashes (opening file dialog, closing it and open it again) in OpenOffice.org, Homebank, Anjuta, Gedit, etc. so it's definitely a GNOME/GVFS related problem as it wasn't reproducible in Amarok which is a KDE application.

I've filed another bug about the same issue for gedit, but it must be caused by the same bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/187766 This one has been moved upstream.

Yeah, definitely a bigger problem there. I too was able to reproduce this.

Disagree, I just started having this problem in the last week. This affects any save/open file dialog, but not regular Nautilus file browsing for me.
