Bug Description

Hi there,

in the current prometheus version of 18.04LTS (2.10.x) is a bug that does not allow the clustered monitoring solution thanos (thanos.io) to connect. Especially Thanos sidecar throws error 504 while fetching blocks from prometheus and prometheus api.

A newer version of prometheus solves the error.
Please update the package of 18.04LTS to an newer version.

Thanks for understanding.

Thanks for reporting this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better.

Could you please elaborate on what is broken and in which version it was fixed by upstream? At this point we can't introduce a new version with new features and fixes (and also bugs!) to Ubuntu Bionic, if you can point out the upstream fix we could try to backport it to Bionic.
