KNetworkManager cannot find or connect to ESSID with Nordic chars

Bug Description

Binary package hint: knetworkmanager

Tried to connect to ESSID fam_kørschen, but KNetworkManager doesn't even find it. XP laptop finds it and connects just fine.
Using Feisty, KNetworkManager 0.2 (According to About dialog box)

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04? Have you tried using wpasupplicant directly to associate with the AP?
