Bug Description

When I boot my laptop running linux-image-2.6.12-3-k7, top shows about 50-80% of
the CPU time being used and powernowd steps up the processor to 100% (1.8GHz),
but no apps appear to be using up more than a few percent of the CPU time. When
I boot using linux-image-2.6.12-2-k7 instead, everything runs fine.

Yup.. it is a known problem on the 2.6.12.2 series.. a patch is queued already
for 2.6.12.3
(all upstream)
