Bug Description

The only relevant-looking logs are from test:

+ openstack baremetal driver list
+ grep fake-hardware
+ echo 'No active conductors with fake-hardware driver'
No active conductors with fake-hardware driver
+ exit 1

No errors in logs of services.

So far spotted only on Stein branch (Train not affected).

It has the fake-hardware driver configured.

So it looks like we got https://review.opendev.org/717259 wrong - SCENARIO is not present before Train, it was called ACTION, hence Ironic (and Zun) clients has not got installed since.

There is as well a minor issue that Ironic testing does not care about pipe failure and hid this issue.

    CI: Fix Ironic and Zun scenarios testing

    Stein only.

    In [1] a small regression has been introduced, which permanently
    disabled installation of extra clients (Ironic, Zun) because
    of SCENARIO (Train+ CI) replacing ACTION.

    CI: Discern between Ironic client and grep failure

    Pipe hid an issue that Ironic client was not available in CI,
    making it look as if fake-hardware driver was not usable.

    This commit applies separation of concerns to easily discern
    between the two failures and provide better debugging experience.
