Bug Description

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

The Deskbar applet version 2.21.90 in Hardy reintroduces the "button UI" mode ("Stick to panel" option in the preferences).

The text entry box that pops up when Deskbar is clicked in this mode is not focused. Typing immediately after clicking the Deskbar icon selects icons on the desktop, instead of entering text in the box.

Please do not close bugs based solely on your experience, without stating any details, version, etc. It can depend on whether you're using Compiz or not, for example (I'm not at this time; I'll check whether it persists with Compiz). I've heard from two other people who've run into this (see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/deskbar-applet/+bug/131446/comments/28 for one); it looks genuine.

I reported the problem in the upstream bug about the lost of the in-panel field.

I'm running the daily-live cd for Feb 22, the deskbar-applet version is 2.21.91-0ubuntu1, and this bug is still present when compiz is disabled. If compiz is enabled, the bug goes away.
