Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and help make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read 'How to report bugs effectively' http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Thanks!

Missing dependencies do not give you a faint printout, but rather no printing at all.

Also the error message

error: ubuntu-20.04 version is not supported, so all dependencies may not be installed

does not really say what is missing or whether something is actually missing. It only tells that HP did not test the software on Ubuntu 20.04.

Where did you obtain this error message?

What is your printer and how old is it? If it is not too old, you could do driverless printing, not using HPLIP at all. For this connect to the printer preferably by the network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) and when there is no print queue created completely automatically, look in your printer setup tool under the discovered network printers, and select you printer, and of that the "driverless" variant. This typically works for printers which claim that they allow to print from a smartphone.

1. I attempted to print.
2. Printing legibly.
3. Printing is extremely faint and unreadable.

When I attempted to install the latest hplip version via terminal I received the error message.
My printer is too old for networked printing.
