Upgrading to 20.04 beta failed

Decided to risk the new Beta in an attempt to escape the sound issues with 19.10

Entered in terminal:
sudo do-release-upgrade -d

Got to the option to show the list of packaged which will be removed.
Selected to view what is being removed.
Stuck on this:

Nothing I press gets me past this.

Currently stuck with an incomplete upgrade.

It seems that you are stuck in a vi editor session.
To close it proceed as follows:

To exit without saving changes made:
Press <Escape>.
(You must be in insert or append mode if not, just start typing on a blank line to enter that mode)
Press : <colon>.
The cursor should reappear at the lower left corner of the screen beside a colon prompt. The colon indicates that what follows is a Vim command.
Enter the following:
q!
Then press <Enter>.
This will quit the editor, and abandon all changes you have made; all changes to the document will be lost.

I'm not sure how this could have happened as DistUpgradeViewText's confirmChanges function just prints the packages and asks about removing them.

I hit the reset button on my computer to escape this GUI prompt. I can boot up without issue on restart. Its just weird getting stuck like that during an upgrade - never seen that before.
