Bug Description

When I run the disks program I frequently see the model and serial number of the disks I'm working with is corrupted.

Most often this is with WD drives, but i have seen it with other brands

However when i use GSmartControl theses entries are fine (they model number is also reported correctly in GParted).

I' using gnome-disk-utility 3.34.0 and GSmartControl 1.1.3

Screen grab attached for Disks (on the left) and GSmartControl (right)

Still a very noob at reporting bugs, so apologies if this is the wrong forum/method/reporting style/I left information out..

Happy to supply any other information you need

Thanks, that sounds like worth reporting upstream on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-disk-utility/

Do you see the same string corruption in
$ udisksctl dump
