Radeon treiber in Gutsy unterstützt nicht Grafikkarte Radeon 8500

Bug Description

Please use English from now on.

The driver in Gutsy does support Radeon 8500, because I had one. Please attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

This may be interesting:
Yesterday I tryed to install Kubuntu 7.10 on another computer. He has windows xp home on it and a nv graphic card.
I replaced only my computer (with the radeon 8500) but i kept my 15" Geritec TFT panee (Geritec PR 568)l. Using the life CD I could pursue the loading process but when it came to the KDE installation, I had a black screen.
I tryed the same thing with Kubuntu 7.4 without any graphical problems (!), but the computer found 2 screens, one of them was working, the other was fictive - perhaps due to a video interface on the graphic card.
So I think the graphical problems come perhaps from the monitor I use.
But anymay, the structure of 7.4 was better.
Even on firefox I could use the MIDI-Plugin from

Since I have installed Kubuntu 7.10 Gutsy on my computer, the plugin works no more and I have those graphical problems. BUT the printer in my network works now.
So I had to decide what I want: Or a working printer or no graphical problems.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. In the development cycle for Intrepid there have been some vast improvements in the open source ati video driver and we could use your help testing them. Could you please download the latest Alpha CD image of Intrepid and test this particular bug just using the Live CD? You can find the latest image at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing . Your testing can help make Ubuntu and the open source ati driver even better! Thanks in advance.
