Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

I use the AMD64 Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon release. The evolution package is 2.12.1-0ubuntu1. After an update two weeks ago Evolution stops to set the "message read" tags on the mails in my IMAP folders. Everytime I restart Evolution all messages appear as unread. Unfortunately I forgot the date of the update. However, this is quite annoying since Evolution worked fine until this time.
I use a Cyrus IMAP server on a Debian Etch installation (the cyrus packages are version 2.1.18-5.1).
best regards

Why isn't this a bug? I have the same problem: I open Evolution, check for new mail in my IMAP accounts and read them. All are marked as read. When I close Evolution and open it again, messages are marked as not read. If you press "Receive and Sent" button, all messages are correctly marked as read or not read.

I think this is a minor bug.

Hi Milton. I think the problem is that this bug could not be confirmed
by other uses (at least the one I had).
In my case it was a problem on my cyrus IMAP server. The "seen"-database
for my account was corrupted. May have a look in the log files of your
IMAP server if you have your own one or contact your mail provider to
check the account.
