No status whilst copying data DVD to is after 2048MB copied to hard drive

Binary package hint: brasero

When copying a data DVD in this case my copy of Vista for use with virtualbox-ose. Using brasero's copy function the status i.e. progress bar and notification icon will go blank when 2048MB has been copied to hard disk. The process continues and the copying is sucessfull.

I can replicate here. Writer model is DVDRAM GSA-4083N, using latest Ubuntu 8.04.

Thanks for your report, can you get a log of brasero? just replicate what were doing and run brasero as: brasero --debug &> brasero-log.txt and submit that file to the report, thanks.

I too can confirm this bug.
Writer used is a SAMSUNG DVD R/RW SH-W08A, 1S31, max UDMA/33 on Ubuntu Desktop 8.10
I attached the log (brasero --debug &> brasero-log.txt)

I have ubuntu 8.04 on a dell D830 with DVD+-RW AD-5540A.

Hey guys,

I got the same problem here with my setup and i posted a log-file. (see my previous post)

The same happens here: creating an iso-file works perfectly but after 2GB of data is transferred the progress-bar blanks again. (as if nothing was yet transferred (0%)) The transfer does complete correctly though. After the transfer a checksum is made and it ends normally.
