Intel WiFi [8086:02f0] subsystem [8086:0030] not working

No WiFi APs are detected. It's like the driver doesn't recognize the hardware.

I tried reinstalling it, but it didn't work.

Please fix this ASAP.

Switching back to kernel 5.3.0-29-generic worked.

From backport-iwlwifi-dkms 7906-0ubuntu4 and on, a OBSOLETE_BY="5.0.0" parameter is added in bug 1859389. So you do have backport-iwlwifi-dkms automatically installed due to modaliases match, but it's not in action. This is expected, and that's why removing it won't help.

If you want to try this dkms, please do:
1. remove that OBSOLETE_BY parameter from /usr/src/backport-iwlwifi*/dkms.conf
2. Run `sudo dpkg-reconfigure backport-iwlwifi-dkms` to rebuild DKMS modules
3. reboot to take effect.

And, could you also test kernel in https://people.canonical.com/~acelan/bugs/lp1865829/ ? Install all to deb files. You should have DKMS package removed/deactivated while testing it.

On Ubuntu 20.04, WiFi won't authenticate after the upgrade, and I had to "forget" it, then reenter the password. Much less severe, but it would be a problem for those who don't know what to do.
