Ubuntu 20.04
slapd 2.4.49+dfsg-1ubuntu1

Default configuration except for preexisting openldap user & group.

# apt install slapd ldap-utils
...

The messages are harmless as far as I know. If you don't want to see them, uninstall the libsasl2-modules-ldap package. (Since you evidently haven't configured it, I assume you aren't using it.)

At any rate this is not a bug in the openldap package.
