Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Hello Robert, you could try disabling extensions in gnome, or gnome-shell, or mutter; I have heard those are a common cause of stability issues.

Thanks

The attachment 'GsettingsChanges.txt' suggests there are no extensions enabled.

Please:

1. Wait until the problem happens again.

2. Immediately after restarting, run:

   journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

   and attach the file 'prevboot.txt'.

Changed in gnome-shell (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete
affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) → ubuntu

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't see an explanation there right now.

If you have any crash files in /var/crash then please let us know and follow https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment

Otherwise this sounds like some kind of kernel crash.

Add: I had to disable Temp max restart in win10 to get this motherboard to work work correctly it was doing the same thing with random restarts until i disabled that which is not good for the normal user but i monitor my temps closely and do shutdowns(side note)
:looking into what could be causing the same issues with this i disable da few bios suspend sleep features as of this moment no restart but ill troubleshoot some more!

Please report crash files using the 'ubuntu-bug' command only and don't attach them to bugs. But good news: crashes in gnome-control-center are not relevant here since that won't crash the whole system.

Is comment #12 meant to say the bug is gone?

Please only send us prevboot log files when the bug has actually happened. On the first reboot after it.

It was never an Actual System Bug persay But i think i have narrowed this Random Crash to GPU driver/ Resolution HZ settings. Thank you! So technically the drivers i were using persay manufacturer dont work very well i have made my own custom drivers and functioning quite well very stable so far ty! I UNDERSTAND!
