Is it a regression? Did it work on previous Ubuntu release?

I've only ever run Focal on this laptop. When I first installed(end of December 2019) the battery level worked. I was using it while plugged in for a few weeks and recently noticed that the battery level stopped working.

According to [1] this laptop is certified pre-install for Ubuntu.

Can you please boot to and older kernel and see if it works?

@ltrager,

Is this still an issue on recent kernels? The latest kernel, 5.4.0-20.24, is in https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ubuntu/proposed if you can try it.

Otherwise, are you able to attempt installing older kernels to identify the last one which worked?

I tested booting into Bionic which showed the battery level working. When I booted back into Focal the battery level was working again. I'm not sure why that fixed it but it did.

Thanks for looking into this!
