Bug Description

Binary package hint: bind9

The name.conf man page says:

     To discard all messages in a category, specify the null channel:

         category lame-servers { null; };
         category cname { null; };

     The following categories are available:
      [snip]

However it does not list cname as an available category and inserting it into a configuration yields "undefined category: 'cname'" when attempting to start bind.

I cannot find any version of the manpage that includes that text. What version of bind9 are you looking at?

Sorry about that. The above snippet was from the named.conf man page within the bind package rather than bind9 package.

Seeing as we no longer have a supported 'bind' package, this bug is no longer relevant, closing as Invalid.
